Altai Hat

Carol Hiltner, the trek planner, gave all of us going to Altai this summer a hat. While we were packing up all the food in May for the trek, Carol mentioned that we should write our name inside the hat so that we don’t get them mixed up. Sarcastically, I told her that I wouldn’t write my name on the inside of the hat. She looked at me sideways…possibly thinking that I was being rude. I quickly followed my comment with, “I’m not gonna write my name on the inside, I’m gonna write my name on the OUTSIDE of my hat so everyone knows who I am.” Everyone laughed and Maia pointed out that she figured out who the “rule breaker” would be. Yes, true…*flash* to this morning, I decided to take my hat to another level. I have a crystal sitting on my mantel that I wanted to bring with me….so I sewed the crystal to my hat. Check out the pic! I can’t wait for Carol to see the transformation of her hat design…I have “Krystalized” it! LOL

One fortuitous sun-up in May, I awoke midday. I wandered through a park... until it was dark. Passed by this fellow named Pete, it was fate that we should meet.
